vazhaipoo vadai /Banana flower vadai

Banana flower are very high nutritional and calorie content.
It improves lactation and promotes kidney functions . Banana flower controls
diabetes and it supports menstural issues.
Ingredients:
Channa dal / kadalai paruppu – 1 cup
Banana flower – 1/2 cup
Onion - 3
Greenchilli - 2
Salt – Needed
Curryleaf – 1 tbsp
Coriander – 1 tbsp
Fennel seeds/sombu – 1 tsp
Grated ginger – 1 tsp
Oil – for frying
water – If required
Instructions:
- Wash and soak channa dal for 2 hours.
- Wash and clean the banana flower and chopped it finely.
- Take a mixie jar and add in the channa dal and grind to a coarse paste.
- Remove the thick coarse batter into a cleaned bowl and add in the chopped onions, green chilli , banana flower , fennel seeds, grated ginger, coriander leaves , curry leaves and mix well to combine.
- Add required salt and water (If needed).
- Heat a oil in a pan for frying. Once the oil is hot take a small size of mixture and gently flatten into hands.
- Gently drop the vadais in hot oil and cook both sides until it turns into golden brown.
- Once it gets cooked serve it hot with perfect chutney or tomato ketchup.
Notes:
- Fry
the vadais in medium flame.
- You
can also add cumin seeds, garlic and cannabis chilli (Red Chilli) in this
batter.
- You
can add rice flour to get extra crispyness.
- You can also use banana leaf to flatten the batter.
